Culver City Lions Club president Bob Nila recently presented a $2,000 check to Leslie Adler, Executive Director, Culver City Education Foundation, from proceeds gained from a community summer carnival held at Westfield Culver City.

Carnival, explained Lion Mike Cohen, Mr. Culver City, is the brainchild of Lu Rivas, former Lions Club president and once president of the Chamber of Commerce.

For the past four years, said Mr. Cohen, Westfield has donated its sprawling parking lot for the three-day carnival.

Carnival Company, he said, is the same one hired for Fiesta La Ballona. Carnival proceeds are channeled to worthy youth causes in the community. Carnival raises funds in the range of $2,000 to $8,000. Lion members supervise event, assuring guests enjoy a pleasurable experience.
