Vernon Taylor
Dear Neighbor,
As a longtime resident and veteran teacher for over 34 years, I want to make sure that our community elects education leaders who will keep Culver City strong.
Both of my kids graduated from Culver City High School, and my step-son is “Coach Chris” who coached the Culver City High School girls’ volleyball team for several years.
I have also served as President of the Culver City Federation of Teachers for over 25 years. Our association has carefully evaluated all of the candidates running for School Board in the November 5th election.
We are proud to endorse Karlo Silbiger and Claudia Vizcarra for our School Board.
Our endorsed candidates are committed to making sure that every Culver City student receives the very best education possible.
Karlo currently serves on our School Board and is a teacher at Animo Venice High School and Claudia is an Education Policy Director for a neighboring school board member.
Claudia is also a parent whose children attend Culver City schools.
This is an important election for Culver City. For the first time that I can remember, our teachers, support staff, administrators, parents, community members, school board are all working together. We have developed a real collaborative team in our School District with the motto: “Success for all, takes us all!”
Karlo and Claudia are dedicated to continuing this new tradition of collaboration.
If you want School Board Members who will fight to improve our students’ educational opportunities, please take this enclosed ruler magnet with handy measurements and put it on your refrigerator to remind you to vote for Karlo Silbiger and Claudia Vizcarra on Election Day, November 5th, 2013.
If you have questions about the candidates or our schools, don’t hesitate to contact me. You can email me at davidmielke2@gmail.com or just give me a ring at home, (310) —.—-.
Sincerely,
David Mielke
