Re “Three Board Members Saluted for Making the Right Call”

Criticism by former School Board member Stephen Schwartz of the recent CCUSD-sponsored voter opinion survey regarding the bond measure is misguided.

On several occasions the Board was told by the survey consultant that a valid statistical sample of likely voters was 400 respondents.  This holds true if a survey is conducted in a large district like L.A. Unified or a smaller district like Culver City’s.

It seems the only “valid” statistical survey sample for Mr. Schwartz would be to poll anywhere from 15 percent to 25 percent of District voters.

Oh, wait, that is the usual range for voter turnout in a CCUSD board election.

Too bad three Board members didn't have the courage to conduct that survey.
