Dateline Dayton – Our government owes us truthful answers.
First, the Syrian mess. Why didn’t President Obama initially suggest a diplomatic resolution to the problem instead of saying he was going to bomb Syria?
We still really aren’t sure who actually used the chemicals on the Syrian citizens. Their president? Rebels? Someone else?
Some time ago we had the Fort Hood massacre, a terrible loss of life. How could this man even have been in the military? What kind of safeguards are in place to protect our men and women in the service of our country from individuals who should not have access to a gun, much less, a member of our military?
Now we have the shooting at the Naval Shipyard in Washington, another dreadful incident. How could he have secured a job with contractors that allowed him have practically access?
How did the killer get in with a weapon? Another example of the poor security measures followed by our government. Our government does so many stupid things and ignores the obvious.
The Benghazi situation and the loss of life there is another example of the problems occurring during Mr. Obama’s administration. We have no idea if anyone in the know is even telling the truth.
I’m not blaming the President. However if all the above examples would have occurred during the Bush administration, the Democrats would be pushing to have him removed from office. I haven’t even mentioned all the security leaks.
Now we are facing a government shutdown, because Mr. Obama and his Democrat buddies want to continue with this nonsense called Obamacare. We need healthcare reform, but Obamacare is not the answer. No one really knows what it entails, nor are they ready to properly implement the program.
When it comes to purchasing an item for use by our government, it requires so many checks and balances to protect everyone involved in the purchasing function, that it makes a 10 cent item cost a hundred dollars (that might be low). The only person not protected is the taxpayer, who must pay for all the nonsense. Is this butt covering done at the expense of security for the military?
Some years ago I possessed a security clearance. To obtain it, I had to complete a lot of detailed paperwork. Even my neighbors were questioned. I don’t know what goes on today. It does not appear to be adequate.
We must have a change in Washington, and not just the President, or the Democrats. With the arrival of fall, we need a thorough housecleaning.
