From the accompanying photos, you may determine that two months before Culver City High School’s football home opener, upgrading of facilities, including the football field, continues apace.

The track's asphalt has been paved, and now it has to cure for 28 days before the final half-inch of tartan rubber track can be poured.

All of the bleacher planks are being recycled and so are the metal brackets.

There was a slight delay in laying the brick for the ticket booth/snack bar/restroom building at the north end, due to a question about the rebar that was used.

The engineers passed it and they are back on schedule to complete the work by the first week in September.

Looking at the artificial filaments used, the blades of grass in the turf appeared to be 2½ to 2 5/8 inches in length.
