As some of School Board member Karlo Silbiger’s supporters have stated in the last week, we have a serious rip in the fabric of our community over the bond measure debate.
The thing of it is, though, that it is Mr. Silbiger who has caused it.
Whether or not you support a school bond, the critical problem is that Karlo Silbiger has failed the people.
Why doesn’t he want to hear from the parents and community?
Why isn’t he open-minded enough to attend a special School Board meeting to listen to the opinions of the community – and perhaps re-assess his position?
What kind of politician thinks it is okay to kill something that has engaged the community’s attention and imagination for a year and then to brush off calls for the public to have its say?
I guess I answered my own question:
He is just another politician.
