The School Board is meeting tonight at 6 to discuss hiring Ann Marie Nock as a consultant for a proposed Bond Measure.
I don't want to put a damper on things because, in principle, I do think we need to get some type of bond funding to fix our schools.
However, when I Googled Ann Marie Nock, I came across an article titled “The Bank, the School and the 38-Year Loan” from the Orange County Register of Feb. 15.
What caught my eye was a statement in the article that says; “It is illegal for California school officials to hire political consultants with public funds to help pass bond measures. Using the bank's political consultants is not a legal way around that law, according to the state office of Legislative Counsel.”
Please let your readers and the School Board be aware of this article.
