Re “O’Leary Rings up Two Huge Sales –Home and Both Businesses”

Having sold his home and both high-profile while emerging from a divorce, what are Vice Mayor Mehaul O’Leary’s plans?

“I am going to focus on the City Council for the moment,” he said, “and then decide next year, figure out what is next.”

How is Mr. O’Leary spending these warm late winter days?

They used to be crammed with the thousand daily details of Joxer Daly’s Irish Pub in Culver City and Moorpark, plus his community charity.

First, there is the business of changeover at the pub.

“From the time a posting goes in the window, and it hasn’t happened yet,” he explained, “it takes about 60 days to transfer a liquor license.

“It probably will be mid- to late April before anything changes.”

April should be a signal month for Vice Mayor O’Leary.

Sadly and happily.

“Looks like perfect timing,” he said. “I transition out of the pub and those commitments, and I transition into being mayor. That way I can focus on the year I am mayor.”

From night to night high drama into a far quieter room – what a towering adjustment he is facing.

Enormous, likely life-changing, scenes lie just ahead for Mr. O’Leary.

Inescapable drama beckons as he enters his final year on the Council because of term limits – which he has plenty to say about in the next installment.
