Re “Shining a Light on the Mayor of Inglewood”

Dateline Inglewood — Mayor James Butts did not show up at last evening’s city of Inglewood-sponsored community meeting to discuss a stadium suitable for housing an NFL team.

Neither did any of the City Council members.

As expected, the event turned out to be a petition drive under the guise of a “presentation.”

There was a fair amount of media there (channels 11 and 2 as well as other broadcast camera crews and Scott Reid from the Orange County Register, among others).

People were not happy about the same old promises of jobs for the community and presenter Gerard McCallum's inability to answer real questions about revenue, sports teams (although they had people who appeared to be from the Rams on hand with helmets and uniforms).
