The Culver City Middle School girls’ volleyball team recently captured their second major tournament championship this season.
The Panthers won the FIYA title for the fourth year in a row.
They defeated 2-0 Chime School from the San Fernando Valley in the semifinals and Magnolia Science from Bell 2-0 in the final.
The Panthers dominated the field even after the tournament was expanded to include more teams from West Los Angeles, the metro area of Los Angeles and the Valley.
The semifinals and the finals took place at La Tijera Middle School. Culver City had to play two games in one night to reach the finals.
Coach Marty Siegal’s Panthers were undefeated in the tournament. The girls also won the Marlborough tournament last month.
