Re “He Wonders: Has a Certain Councilperson Read the Brown Act?”

Les Greenberg should check his facts.

In regards to Mr. Greenberg's article two days ago attacking me and Grace Lutheran Church, as usual he doesn't have his facts right.

Grace Diner, LLC is a non-profit corporation that was formed to feed the under-served and homeless individuals and families in the area. It was assigned FEIN# 46-5058093 by the IRS.

Any and all donations made to GD are tax deductible.  There are approximately 25 volunteers, plus a 12-member board, none of whom are paid. Nor are they reimbursed for expenses they may incur.  GD feeds, at no cost to them, between 80 and 100 needy folks at a sit-down five-course dinner each Monday night in the Parish Hall of Grace Lutheran Church.

We have tablecloths, cloth napkins, candles on the tables and a wait staff that serves the diners.  We have been doing this for five years. We are proud to say we have served in excess of 20,000 meals to the needy.

I assume this upsets the Greenbergs because some of our diners do have the audacity to walk on the sidewalk in front of their house.  Sorry, Mr. Greenberg, that's life in a big (or, in our case, wonderful small city)

What have you done lately for the community, Mr. Greenberg?
