Left Worships at the Altar of Phony but Noisy Victims

Top story on page two of left-wing USA Today this morning bellowed “Why college women must report rapes.”

On-campus rape has been a juicy storyline of left-wing media since the flukey Sandra Fluke testified before Congress of how she was being denied $30-a-month birth control pills by women-hating Republican meanies. The starved media swallowed it like an In-and-Out milkshake. Sans imagination, Ms. Fluke has neatly margerined her body and brain into a profitable, difficult to define, career.

The USA Today essay was written by a gurgling girl named Avery Hartmans minutes after her own college graduation. At the center, she spews one of the left’s most durable lies, that one of five women will be raped during their lifetimes.  This nonsense is on a balmy par with claiming all men six feet and taller will not die before their 89th birthday because…well, because.

Leftists crave numbers.  If you pitch statistics at your philosophical rivals, you don’t have to bother with the messiness of actually thinking through a response. Leftists love shortcuts, conserving their energy for demonstrations.

Top story on page three yoo-hoo’d “History may be on Ferguson’s side.”

Inextricably linked, the two unsupported pieces are typically grizzly showcase essays for leftist journals for a single reason. They pretend to portray ordinary people as victims, halleluia victims, of mean, ol’ American society and those dastardly white males.

The latest tripe from Ferguson was penned by USA Today’s most aggrieved black girl reporter, Yamiche Alcindor, who brings her racially tinged anger to work every day.

Her name most often is attached to stories where blacks are crying bigotry.

Digest the first two sentences from Ms. Alcindor’s story as she tries to perpetuate the popular notion that blacks in Ferguson are victims of the minority white population:

“Ferguson, Mo.—When protestors burned down a convenience store near where a police officer fatally shot Michael Brown, many condemned it. But experts say the ensuing images on national television could become as much of a catalyst for social change as peaceful protests.”

The latter sentence is intended to hook you into the story, except Ms. Alcindor, who did some of the worst reporting last year on Trayvon Martin, fails to support her assertion.

Be careful when you read and what you may gulp down. She could only find one obscure professor at one of America’s least known universities to say black poverty and failing black schools are the fault of the white man.  Wanna ride with that? Why not bicycle to Hawaii?

Not nearly enough attention has been paid to these numbers – all but one of Ferguson’s City Council members are white. More than two-thirds of Ferguson is black. Why don’t blacks vote?  Hmm. Must be racism, just as soon as I figure out how.
