After weekends of demonstrating against Israel’s role in the recent – current? – war with the terrorist group Hamas, Jeff Warner and his L.A. Jews for Peace members will march at a more distant venue.

On Saturday morning at 6, Mr. Warner said demonstrators will be at the Port of Long Beach.

Their assignment: To protest Israeli political policies by marching against the Israeli-owned Zim shipping line, which docks and unloads its cargo at the Port in Long Beach.

“There will be a demonstration to prevent the Israeli Zim ship from unloading,” Mr. Warmer said. “This is an economic action to send the message to Israel that Americans, including Jewish Americans, want the occupation to end.  It is also a message to American political leaders that their constituents do not approve of the United States funding and enabling the Israeli occupation.”

The demonstrators will chant “End the seven-year siege of Gaza,” a blockade jointly supported by Egypt to prevent the importation of weapons for Hamas and its allies.

Mr. Warner said those who agree should convene at the corner of Pier A Way and Pier A Plaza, Long Beach.

No chance of anyone arriving too early, he says, because organizers will be there at 4 a.m.

In protesting what he calls “Israeli apartheid” against Palestinians, Mr. Warner said that in Oakland, “the community prevented Zim from unloading for days on end.”
