Re “Fracking: Difference Between Hometown and State Taking Action”

Dear Dr. Khin Khin Gyi,

Your assessment is right on-point.

The problem with City Council is the voters’ apathy. As you know, there are five Council members, and only three votes are needed to pass a resolution.

Culver citizens who do vote like their politicians and views homogenized. There have been only a few exceptions, the female Council members. They have not discovered the advantage of diversity yet.

Action speaks louder than words — rent control, affordable housing and the ice skating rink situation.

I see that Carson beat L.A. City and Culver City to the punch, banning oil drilling (for 45 days, with the possibility of an extension).
