I always have believed that politics isn't about slogans or speeches. It is about helping people, improving their lives, creating a brighter future.
Henry Waxman has done just that. Congressman Waxman has been an extraordinary champion for all of us for 40 years. From climate change, to consumer protection, to healthcare, he has stood up for us. He has fought for us. And he has led the way toward a brighter future.
Now that he has decided to retire, I'm rolling up my sleeves to carry on his amazing legacy.
I am ready to fight for this community. every neighborhood, every family, to create good well-paying jobs, to stand up for equal rights for everyone, to protect the environment, to provide affordable healthcare and to create the future for our children that they deserve.
In the coming days, we will be launching our grassroots campaign for the 33rd District.
I am so thankful for all the support you have given me in the past.
And I am so excited that we are going to get a chance to stand together again.
Are you ready? Let’s do this.
