We are having weekend guests.
We don't have guests very often. But this weekend we are having 12 of them. Besides the bedrooms, people will be sleeping in the TV room and the computer room.
I decided to free up a cabinet in the computer room and closet space in each of the bedrooms. Since I was freeing up space, I decided it was a good time to reorganize. Taking stuff out of where it was, and figuring out how to combine things in the most efficacious storage manner possible. It was fun. I enjoy organizing.
Most of the little doodads that were on the ledges of the computer room cabinets and on the computer desks were thrown into boxes. All in all, that was a good idea. But now that I want to glue the wheels of my office chair, I'm not able to find the box of glues I so carefully put away.
Of course, there was lots of garbage, and things to store in the attic.
I took down the signs on my wall such as my “Check List” when I leave the house, and a list of things I can do around the house. I guess I didn't want the guests to see what I do.
For the time being I shelved my pop-up card hobby – literally. Twenty-three pop-up cards now adorn the shelves of my display case in the living room. When the company comes with their four children, I will tell the children each may take a pop-up card of his or her choice.

Of course, I did some things that make my wife happy, such as touching up some rust spots in the kitchen sink.
Here it is late Wednesday afternoon. I finished my work in the garage, in the computer room and in all the other rooms. Tomorrow morning I will plant the pansies. On Friday morning I will smoke four chickens.
The company will arrive late Friday afternoon. I will be ready – if I take a nap now, if I get good sleep the next two nights, and stay calm.
