When I was even younger, we laughed at Red Skelton and Jackie Gleason.
Contemporarily, G-d has given us the liberal bullies.
Among them is smarmy Nicky Kristof of The New York Times, who is in the mourning of his life.
Nicky is notorious for having declared volubly – and soberly — that he is darned disappointed that he was born, ugh, white. Ick-eee.
Given these sorry clues, you can imagine how Nicky the anti-intellectual reacted to last week’s election when Good trumped Evil.
To amuse his deplorable readers, Narcissistic Nicky wrote an essay for today’s edition to prove, by darn, that he, too, can be a good deplorable.
Mistakenly thinking this was New Year’s, Nicky disclosed his 12 resolutions for the Good People’s Revolt that is the Trump Era.
Some are serious, some are liberal pablum.
1. “I will accept that my side lost, but I won’t acquiesce in injustice and I will gird for battles I care about.”
2. “I will sign up on the Council on American-Islamic Relations website, volunteering to fight Islamophobia.”
3. “I will avoid Hitler metaphors, recognizing that they stop conversations and seldom persuade.”
4. “I will eat Chobani yogurt because its owner has been subjected to racist attacks for his willingness to hire and promote refugees.”
5. “I will support groups like the Southern Poverty Law Center that fight hate group, ad back the center’s petition calling on Donald Trump to disavow bigotry.”
6. “I will support refugees, one of the most demonized groups in the world.”
7. “I won’t let it slide if a friend makes degrading comments about a minority or women, even if it is over Thanksgiving dinner.”
8. “I will try to enlarge my social circle to include people with different views, recognizing that diversity is a wonderful thing.”
9. “I will do what I can in my own life to make sure that the needy aren’t forgotten in the next four years amid paroxysms of tax cuts for the wealthy.”
10. “I will understand that progress may unfold at the state or local level, and I will engage there.”
11. “I will take on sexism and misogyny, which in forms like domestic violence, sexual assault and sex trafficking affect women and girls across the country.”
12. “I will not lose hope.”
To which I would add, you go, girl.
