[ Letter to Robert A. McDonald, Secretary, Dept. of Veterans Affairs Washington, D.C.]

Mr. McDonald,

A couple days ago the VA sent me a notice via U.S. mail — “Time to make an appointment.”

Last Thursday I called VA Dermatology to make an appointment for my semi-annual examination,

No answer.

I left voicemail to call me.

No response.

Friday morning at 11:25,  I called and spoke with a receptionist who said the earliest opening was Nov. 22 at 2:30.  I said I wanted a morning appointment. She said it would be late January. Forget it, I said.

A Veteran cannot get a reasonable doctor’s appointment for nearly three months even though the VA sent the notice.

Yet, this same VA can immediately send five VA cops outside the VA to issue falsified arrest citations for “displaying a ‘placard’” on a public forum, when we are legally displaying the American flag in honor of all the men and women who have defended our nation’s colors for 2½ centuries.

The same VA police falsely arrest and handcuff innocent Veterans for any unjustified reason inside the VA — even in the hospital while trying to eat a hot dog at the Canteen, creating great fear at the National Home while the criminals and drug-dealers roam freely.

There’s still the murder of a Veteran on this land a few years ago that remains unsolved.

This same VA can meet in a nano-second with non-Veteran Bobby Shriver to give the private, non-Veteran Brentwood School where his children attend, an illegal real estate deal for their state-of-the-art sports complex.

This same VA can have more than “50 meetings” with non-Veteran Brentwood merchants and politicians to make a sweetheart deal with the community of Brentwood Village to continue illegally occupying Veterans’ land with a public parking lot, in which the cost to rent this mega-million dollar property will be offset by offering Veterans a discount on a sandwich or a cup of coffee.

Others Are Welcome

Every responsible Veteran knows that there is an open-door policy to Ann Brown’s office for the “community” to discuss privileged (illegal) land deals for non-Veteran use.  All they have to do is promise to call a public dog park a Veterans park, call a public parking lot a Veterans parking lot — and you’ve got a deal.  They’ll even hire Veterans to clean up dog crap and park cars, while UCLA will offer a few tickets for a baseball game to offset the half-billion dollar value of their 10-acre heist.

But when Veterans need to see a doctor, it’s a wait-and-see, when and if you can get an appointment — and then wait for hours once you’re there.

We keep hearing about what all UCLA medical school will be doing for Veterans with this new “settlement.”

To be clear; there would be no UCLA medical school if they didn’t have a multitude of Veterans to experiment on over the past decades.

UCLA talks a big story about offering legal aid to Veterans.

Do you think they would responsibly represent me against your corrupt VA police force and falsified arrests?

Now that would be interesting.

In spite of all the medical neglect at the VA hospital and out-of-control police abuse on the VA grounds, war-injured and impoverished homeless Veterans are shamefully exiled to skid row and back-alley squalor while your wealthy non-Veteran cronies illegally occupy this sacred land as their own fiefdom.

This is the most corrupt VA in the nation.

For nearly two years, I have called you what you are — a national disgrace and traitor.

Third World dictators threaten their citizens better than you treat our U.S. military Veterans.

You make Benedict Arnold look like an American patriot.

When is the ACLU going to give you one of their bogus “Humanitarian Awards” like they did Ron Olson and Bobby Shriver?

You are most shameful creatures to ever set foot on these sacred grounds.  You have all betrayed Veterans and their “needs” while serving the “wants” of your non-Veteran friends.

For once in your life, do something honorable. Resign.

Sincerely,

Robert L. Rosebrock
Director, Old Veterans Guard
