Time to make some changes.
Exchange heavy socks for light ones. Sandals take the place of tennis shoes near my nightstand. Tee-shirts and shorts are moved to the front of the dresser drawers. Lighter weight PJs.
On our trip to Costco today, I saw that the frozen cherries were nearly depleted. Time to stock up for the summer’s dearth of same.
What do these changes do for my mood? A lot. Especially when I looked in the mirror earlier and decided that it may be time for me to accept the reality that I am getting older.
Spring — the harbinger of new life. I guess that includes my six-month old and two-year old granddaughters. They give me life. So does the thought of one day being with my nine-year old grandson. But that’s another story.
All in all, I can’t complain. I have my health, a wife who cares for me, three children, three grandchildren, a healthy and an alert almost 99-year-old mom,
more than a few enjoyable hobbies, and a good supply of cherries.
I think I’ve got the solution to my age dilemma. Either leave the eyeglasses on the desk when I look in the mirror or walk by the mirror very briskly.
Oh yes, another change I vow to make: Stay in bed long enough to get eight hours of sleep. I’ll need that rest to keep at the top of my form — and to keep thinking young.
Looking through some boxes in the attic, I discovered notes from an old hobby: CDB. CDB, if you pronounce the letters, says, “See the bee.” CDB was the title of the book that got me started. Here is a CODED message from me.
