The killer blizzard along the East Coast has blown into Council Chambers, affecting this evening’s 7 o’clock City Council meeting.
The intention to develop a sustainability city plan and a green business certification program is off the agenda.
It will return to the Council schedule in two weeks, on Monday, Feb. 8.
City Manager John Nachbar requested the delay.
The item was derailed because it requires four-fifths approval by the Council.
With the snowstorms having held Mayor Mehaul O’Leary hostage in Washington, D.C., only four members will be present.
Unanimity on the environmental matter is not a cinch, and that is why it has been put over.
Mr. O’Leary flew to Washington last week to participate in the U.S. Conference of Mayors.
He may be home by late this evening.
