The public is invited to a meeting of the Culver City Unit of the League of Women Voters of Los Angeles next Tuesday evening to talk about this month’s School Board election.

The League will convene at 7 o’clock in the social hall of the Culver City Presbyterian Church, 11269 W. Washington Blvd. Free parking is available behind the church, entering from Globe Avenue.

Everyone’s input is welcome.

The League will evaluate the effectiveness of the recent School Board candidates’ forum it sponsored last month in Council Chambers.

There is no time to rest. The League of Women Voters is starting to plan candidates’ forum for next April’s City Council election. Three seats will be open, and two members will be term-limited.

Other topics to be discussed next Tuesday include:

  • Why did slightly less than 12 percent of Culver City’s registered voters participate in the Nov. 3 election?
  •  Would it help to consolidate Culver City’s local elections (School District, Community College District, City Council)?
  • Are Culver City elections becoming more divisive?
  • What was the effect of bullet voting in the Nov. 3 election?

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization devoted to informed, active participation in government. It does not support or oppose any political party or candidate for public office.

For information call the League’s Los Angeles office at 213.368.1616.
