Re: “‘If You Wonder Where We Have Been’”

Resuming his discussion of the wall full of routinely obscure, complex reasons there is barely evidence of the $107 million school improvements bond passed 16 months ago, School District Supt. Dave LaRose said that “we are trying to articulate and define dual tracks.

“One track is,‘What are some of the things that can be addressed immediately, that are not required to through the (Dept. of State Architecture office), that are on more of a maintenance track. What are some projects we can do right now? How do we address those?’

“Simultaneously,” Mr. LaRose said, “how do we look at the full scope and sequence of all of the projects?

“We need to take another very close look at our master schedule, which we are calling the Implementation Plan, which is:

“We have a needs assessment. We have a general master facilities plan. How do we put that into action?

“You bring in architects who can identify ed specifications and implementation plans and design specs and standardization. How do we standardize equipment, infrastructure, appliances.

“How do we do that from a systemic perspective?” asked Mr. LaRose. “That requires us to be thoughtful about sequence.”
