In an effort to promote community resilience in the event of a disaster, the Fire Dept. will be hosting a free  community CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) training event on Saturday afternoon, April 25, from 3 to 5 at Lindberg Park, 5401 Rhoda Way.

Hands-Only CPR means without mouth-to-mouth breaths.

It is  recommended for teens and adults who are unresponsive and not breathing.

Correct chest compressions are an effective way to continue the flow of oxygen enriched blood to vital organs in the first few minutes of a sudden cardiac arrest.

Considering that 350,000 Americans fall victim to sudden cardiac arrest each year, learning CPR can quite possibly mean the difference between life and death.

In addition to free Hands-Only CPR training, each participant has an opportunity to win a Disaster Supply Kit for a family of  four.
