Transition Culver City

Repurposing and Craft Evening

City Hall, Dan Patacchia Room, first floor, 9770 Culver Blvd.

What is repurposing? It may sound new and trendy, but since ancient times people have been resourceful about re-using old or broken objects instead of throwing them away. Now, hobbyists and craft websites and the Maker culture are re-vitalizing repurposing as an art form. Creative ways to re-purpose will be shown at this hands-on workshop. See Transition Culver City Facebook page.

Friday, April 24,  7 p.m. to 9

Transition Culver City  will screen an eco movie, “Greenhorns Film.”

City Hall, Dan Patacchia Room, first floor, 9770 Culver Blvd.

Here is a documentary exploring the lives of America’s young sustainable farming community—its spirit, practices, and needs. Filmmaker Severine Fleming hopes the stories in this film will embolden those considering a career in agriculture and inspire a campaign for agrarian reform. Panel discussion will follow the film. Popcorn will be provided. See Transition Culver City Facebook page.
