A lady journalist of our acquaintance, believed to be a confessed feminist, complained to the newspaper several months ago that it was archly sexist of this manly publication to stoop to conquer and brand the lady mayor of our village by her first name.

In 34 years, how steeply American society has staggered and tumbled.

My campaign to treat ladies with merited respect instead of as the flip side of man began when Mom’s name turned up in her obituary as “Noonan” rather than the traditional “Mrs. Noonan.”

That was because the girls of 1981 days were envious of boys. They yearned to be treated like unshaven, gun-totin’ varmints as crude as upside nails. They resented being represented as delicate flowers.

Thirty-three seasons later, the upset lady journalist kvetched for a reason that eludes description as fish or fowl ball.

Name That Visitor

Comes now the Prime Minister of Israel to our country.

After Bibi Netanyahu impressively addressed a joint session of Congress this morning on President Obama’s latest cockadoodle scam, the liberal response sounded like a hastily scheduled jailbreak from one of those oozing joints Camarillo is known for.

Hide the men. Shield the children. The ladies have broken free of their restraints.

Purple-faced ladies like left-wing zealots Christiane (I May Be Crude But at Least I Ain’t Objective) Amanpour and Nancy (Hurry and Ask Your Question Before My Next Facelift Fails) demonstrated that contemporary feminists were Etiquette University dropouts. The ugly language they used to insult Mr. Netanyahu.

Horrors.

No need to watch this evening’s television news or tomorrow’s newspapers. All liberal zealots nailed Mr. Netanyahu’s smart speech as meanly as if the worldwide nail supply had been destroyed in the latest salon fire.

Don’t I Know You?

Leftists crave craven casualness. They treat tradition as if she were an earlier former Mrs. Noonan.

All lefties, displaying sui generis respect, trampled down a messy street and labeled the prime minister “Bibi.” As if it were a four-letter curse word.

The more appropriate “Mr. Netanyahu” was for stuffed shirts and stuffing envelopes, = said the underpaid ladies.

The lady journalist of my acquaintance must have lost my email address or converted to normalcy. Never heard a beef from her about “Bibi” usage. Hmmm…
