Re “She Has a Criticism – Why Did You Write This?…

I came to know, and grow fond of, Claudia Vizcarra as a candidate during the late School Board campaign. Not one of the other six contenders was more sincere than Ms. Vizcarra in her convictions. I watched her carefully in small-gathering situations and was impressed.

At the time her friend was scrambling for work, so was one of my dearest friends. She became detached last February. By autumn she was on the brink of catastrophe. Her dilemma: Should she feed her pets or herself?

It is comfortable to stand at a platform and declaim against the wide and deep abuse of unemployment checks across America when you do not know anyone in crisis.

However, what Ms. Vizcarra and every liberal in America overlook is that the uneployed already have received 73 weeks – 73 weeks – of paychecks paid for by millions of working Americans.

If someone is not working after one year and four months, it is difficult to work up sympathy, despite the economic disasters that President Obama has spawned.

If you are not working after 73 weeks, you are not trying. You will need to find someone else to support you.

To Ms. Vizcarra and her fellow liberals who have been weeping that 1.3 million Americans lost their unemployment checks – finally – at the weekend, I offer a single message:

If we supported the Easy Street Unemployed for 10 years before cutting them off, I guarantee at least 1.3 million would complain they have been cheated. They would kvetch that they were losing deserved benefits, and then lie back down on the couch to guzzle more warm beer.

Every demographic in the country is worse off than when Mr. Obama took office. That should startle, and arouse, even liberals.

Don’t blame me. Check the mirror before you.

Ms. Vizcarra and every liberal in America foolishly, unbelievably, fell for the lies pitched by the clown in the White House, who, cunningly, deliberately, calculatedly has worsened the economy of our country – about which he cares not one wit.

If you want to deliver a message to Mr.Obama, you will find him in his classic reclining position in Hawaii, spending your money and mine.
