Tomorrow evening, Culver City High School’s Academy of Visual and Performing Arts presents its Winter Music Concert, “Season’s Greetings,” on campus at the Robert Frost Auditorium, 4401 Elenda St.

The concert will begin at 7.

Doors open at 6:30 with pre-concert entertainment by the Chamber Singers and Jazz Combos.

Admission is a suggested $5 and up. No one will be turned away.

Featured ensembles include the Concert Band and the Concert Choir, both directed by Dr. Tony Spano.

AVPA music ensembles include the String Ensemble, directed by Dr. Tania Fleischer, and the Chamber Singers and Jazz Combos, directed by Dr. Spano.

Among the headline attractions: “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” sung by the Chamber Singers, and a medley of holiday favorites spotlighting all of the musicians.

Among Chamber Singers performing tomorrow will be, from left Samantha Wison, Dionna Wallace, Mira Lauritzen, Leah Glickman, Kristi Littleton, Khoury Williams, Eric Manzuch, Tommy Trinkkeller Gary Berryhill.

The Chamber Singers will perform a choir arrangement of “MLK,” written by Bono and U2 in commemoration of the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The piece also will be performed at the Culver City King Day celebration on Saturday, Jan. 15.

The AVPA music program has performed at numerous events this fall. The Marching Band was at the Santa Monica College Homecoming game and at the Farragut Fall Festival. The Chamber Singers were at the tree lighting events in Downtown and at the Vets Auditorium. The Chamber Singers will perform in April at the Disney Concert Hall as part of the L.A. Master Chorale’s High School Honor Choir.

The music program at Culver City High School is funded by generous donors as well as through grants and fundraising. On Saturday and Sunday, students in the music program will be doing gift-wrapping at the Barnes & Noble store in Marina del Rey,13400 Maxella Ave., from 10 in the morning until 5:45.
