As part of the Black HIV/Aids Collaborative observance of World Aids Day, here is a gentle reminder to join the community from 6 to 9 this evening at the African American Cultural Center, 3018 W. 48th St., for candle-lighting, libation, conversation and refreshments.

On this international health day, we will gather together and pour libation for those who have made transition, to raise awareness if the Aids crisis in our community, to note victories of various kinds, and to recommit ourselves to continue the work and struggle still before us.

This evening’s sponsors, besides the Cultural Center, include: the National Action Network, the Southern Christian Leadership Conference-Los Angeles, 100 Black Men of America, the American Urban Radio Network, Black Men’s Xchange, Brotherhood Crusade, Coalition of Black Trade Unionists, Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, InTheMeanTime, Jordan Rustin Coalition, Los Angeles Sentinel, Minority Aids Project Los Angeles, National Assn. for the Advancement of Colored People, National Black Leadership Commission on Aids, National Coalition of 100 Black Women, National Medical Assn., National Council of Negro Women, National Newspaper Publishers Assn., National Organization of Black County Officials, National Urban League, One Woman Can, Phi Beta Sigma, Women Alive, Black Women for Wellness.
