Fiesta Offers a Discount for Hungry Seniors on Opening Night

The Fiesta La Ballona, the annual community celebration that returns on the final weekend of the month, is offering a “Senior Citizens’ Early Bird Special” on Friday, Aug. 27.

On the first day of Fiesta, from 4:30 until 6, food vendors will have discounts for seniors who are 60 years old and older.

Simultanously, the opening entertainment on the Main Stage will feature Danny Bergen and Friends from 4:30 until 5:30.

Meanwhile, back at the food counters, each vendor will publicize his own separate discount.

Fiesta food vendors who will be open for the Early Bird Special include Amadeo Bros. Italian Pastries, Argentinian Empanadas, California’s Best Kettlecorn, Dog-Gone It (hot dogs), Santa Maria BBQ from the Exchange Club, Hombres de Amor (Tacos and Tamales), Italian Ices and The Juicery (organic juices, lemonade, and fresh-brewed tea).

Also open will be Lee’s Philly Cheesesteak, Mr. Coolee Soft Serve Ice Cream, Mr. Fish & Chips, Muscle Beach Café (sausages), Rock ‘n Roll Pizza, and Wong’s Chinese and Thai Specialties.

The Beer Garden, hosted by the Exchange Club, will start serving at 4:30, as well. Additional food vendors, opening later Friday evening, include McQ’s Smoke House BBQ, Club Rotario de Latinos Unidos (Nachos) and Knights of Columbus (turkey legs). Starting at 6, the Main Stage will present Fiesta-Palooza with Teen Bands Stereo Union , Paper Rain, Static, Jessarae and The Trozos.

Fiesta sponsors include Radio Disney, Ford, Trader Joe’s, See’s Candies, Haynes Building Services, Kane Ballmer & Berkman, Culver City Fast Signs, the Culver City Observer, County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas and Sony Pictures Entertainment.
