The lingering suspense and drama over last night’s race between Jeff Cooper and Meghan Sahli-Wells for the second available seat on the City Council will not last long.
With 42 votes separating the unofficial winner, Mr. Cooper, from Ms. Sahli-Wells, the remaining 140 Vote-by-Mail ballots to be counted still could swing the decision in either direction.
“All of the votes (formerly known as absentee ballots) should be counted by shortly after noon,” Yohana Coronel of the City Clerk’s office told the newspaper this morning.
