Although I may be broken down
And find it hard to keep a frown
From off my face
And smile with grace
My dreams continue with me still
My mind and heart and then my will
Help me to strive
To stay alive
Yet as I look at what’s in store
For me and others even more
Who’re aging fast
And will not last
I see how our beloved nation
Has let our health care system
Become quite sick
And derelict
Our system grows even sicker
While our Congress only dickers
They won’t be taught
But only bought
By Big Pharma and insurers both
Who have our nation on the ropes
And bleed us dry
Until we die
So give us laws and some protection
To help us guard against infection
From those whose greed
Belies our need
For good health care
We all can share
