It would be great if you could help publicize the need for donations for the Culver City Annual Holiday Food Certificate Program, which offers grocery market scrip to eligible, low income Culver City families and individuals.
Last year the program was able to gift approximately $30 per individual. For a family of 4, that would have been $120.
This year the program has currently raised only 50 percent of the funds needed for this very worthy program.
Funding for this program comes, 100 percent, from the support of generousdonations from individuals, local businesses, and civic organizations.
During this time of economic uncertainty this program is needed now more than ever.
The staff of the Senior Center has seen an unprecedented rise in applications from community members in need, as well as an unusually low donation rate.
They would be extremely grateful to receive donations in any amount no later than Dec.18. The contact person for the program is Darren Uhl at the Culver City Senior Center
Dear Community Members:
The Culver City Senior Citizens Association, supported by the City of Culver City, is providing the Annual Holiday Food Certificate Program, which offers grocery market scrip to eligible, low income Culver City families and individuals.
Funding for this program comes, 100 percent, from the support of generous donations from various individuals, local businesses and civic organizations.
During this time of economic uncertainty this program is needed now more than ever, and staff has seen an unprecedented rise in applications from community members in need, as well as an unusually low donation rate.
Because of this fact, we would be extremely grateful to receive your program donation in any amount no later than Dec. 18.
Your donation will enable the CCSCA and the City of Culver City Senior & Social Services Division the opportunity to provide needy families, seniors, and Culver City Unified School District students with supermarket food certificates for the 2009 holidays. Your gift shall make a considerable difference in the lives of many.
Donations may be sent to or dropped off at the Culver City Senior Center, 4095 Overland Ave., Culver City 90232—to the attention of Senior & Social Services Specialist Darren Uhl. Checks should be made payable to the “Culver City Senior Citizens Association” —a 501© 3 non-profit organization. If you have any questions, please direct them to Darren at 310.253.6729 or darren.uhl@culvercity.org
