Regarding the passage of Measure EE, the parcel tax, on Tuesday:

Well, I supported the candidates, and they have come, seen and conquered.

However, we citizens and parents have lain our heads across the guillotine to be forever responsible for the welfare of our students.

Don't expect our elected (reps or officials) to come to our aid. We have demonstrated we don't need their help.

I am scared.

Yes, my trousers will be forever empty.

I expect to be held responsible (if not me, my neighbors) to answer all of the financial woes of the community. (Remember the library?)

What will be next?

Wherever or whenever we need money, be prepared to pony up. You just let “money bags” off the hook, as the “nut” (to crack) just increased mani-fold.

Perhaps, I'm not clear.

The state takes our money, needs more, takes more, then will need still more.

So we pass propositions to cover the shortfall. It will be a bottomless pit to fill. The budget keeps increasing.

I'm ag’in it.

Til next we meet again, good luck. I am Efrem Violin, for 44 years a voting resident of Culver City, rarely missing an election.
