Medical marijuana shops opening at will…

Billboards out of control???

Gangs running around at will???

Budget out of control with runaway pensions???

Brink of Bankruptcy???

Water mains exploding???

Lack of police officers???

Brownouts at the fire stations???

Overdevelopment???

Traffic???

Lack of Planning???

An underfunded pension system about to implode???

Lack of true mass transportation???

Are the elected officials above the law??? (Ask the one who said in public session he waters his lawn at will)

Fines, assessments and taxes not being collected???

Businesses without certificates of occupancy, building permits, businesses licenses, all open and operating in L.A.???

Mayoral deputies quitting enmasse (6) ???

The facts are very clear: The City Attorney writes the ordinances, the City Council votes to enact the ordinances, and the Mayor signs the bills.

Is anyone reading the ordinances??? Does anyone understand English???

Are these public service elected officials underpaid to do their jobs???

Let's get real. The public has been playing watchdog for decades and the city has been going to hell in a handbasket.

In yesterday’s L.A. Times, there are 2 very telling quotes in the story about medical marijuana:

“Lutz could also be in jeopardy on other grounds. The city attorney's office says the dispensary failed to obtain a building permit or a certificate of occupancy”—referring to a medical marijuana shop on Jefferson Boulevard.

“At Monday's hearing, Judge James C. Chalfant said he had hoped to learn that the council had adopted a permanent ordinance. ‘I thought you would come in and tell me this was all moot,’ he said.”

“This is the city of Los Angeles,” replied Assistant City Atty. Jeri Burge. “Sometimes it goes slowly.”
