School Board candidate Prof. Patricia Siever, right, who is hosting a Meet ‘n Greet event Sunday afternoon at 1 at Carlson Park, this week won the endorsement of former Mayor Albert Vera, second from left, a giant in recent years in Culver City politics and culture. Prof. Siever and her husband, Luther Henderson, flank Mr. Vera and his wife Ursula.
“The School District needs a board member with proven expertise and experience dealing with public school budgets, with finance and educational programs,” Mr. Vera said. “I have worked with her as a member of the Brotman Medical Center Board of Governors. She is a knowledgeable and an effective board member. She brings to Culver City a fresh voice and innovative ideas. Culver City and its students will be well served by her election.”
With less than 6 weeks to go before Election Day, Nov. 3, Prof. Siever has invited the community to bring its School District issues and questions to Sunday’s Carlson Park event, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the picnic shelter.
