Previously, Looking Behind the Abrams Gaffe
Dear Ari Noonan:
This is an open letter.
Hope you and all others have read me by now.
Not from California.
Do not play games or politics.
Push me, will push back harder.
Only one goal: To save our children.
My special interest is “just kids.”
Why are you surprised about my attire?
It states clearly that one of the reasons I didn’t want to run was because I enjoy my freedom.
This is just some friendly advice; do not try to insult me again just because I do not follow the group.
If you have any questions about my intellectual ability, then line up your 10 best attorneys and CPA and let’s discuss Measure EE, the parcel tax.
You name the place and time. Must be televised.
Should not be a problem since every one has endorsed it.
My job now is to defend our kids’ future, since no one else seems to be willing or capable.
That letter to the Democratic Club was my way of a joke.
Lighten up.
Karlo has no problem with it.
My Dad always said, “Sometimes it is not good to let people know what you are thinking.”
If there is anything that was untrue, then please point it out to me.
I’m different.
If we make eye contact, I will speak.
Have plans that are to be presented at the proper time.
This is the last time I will address the forum situation.
My original and only idea was that once (last Thursday evening’s Candidates Forum at El Marino Language Immersion School) was over, we candidates and returning School Board members would turn in our written answers to all 20 questions.
Since we had to be prepared to answer 10 random questions, I just assumed that we would have answered them all already.
No extra effort involved.
Have them published by news media.
The public would have insight to our thought processes.
How that evolved into overthrowing the forum is beyond my comprehension.
My letter clearly stated that these types of forums do not work for me.
As for me being out of the race, do not count on it.
Stakes are too high!
The future of our kids depends upon it.
Cannot do it by myself.
It‘s going to take the village.
Mr. Abrams, a candidate for the School Board in the Nov. 3 election, may be contacted at gabrams@ca.rr.com
Ari Noonan responds: In his latest communique, Mr. Abrams follows a familiar pattern. He emphasizes how different he is from his rivals, how glorious it is to be unorthodox, distinct from the crowd, without mentioning a single issue and how he proposes to solve it.
Platitudes, as a substitute for familiarity with subject matter, seldom proves to be a winning campaign strategy.
It may be a joke that he intended for his letter after the Sept.9 Democratic Club meeting to be a joke. He was the only one in on the joke. It looked serious to me.
Mr. Abrams’ unexcused absence from the El Marino forum only adds to an expanding list of barriers between him and voters. They knew little about him at the start, and his main public posture, down to 6 weeks before Election Day, has been to carp about peripheral matters.
