These are the things I believe keep me feeling the best, moving the best (in more ways than one), and thinking the best.
In no particular order, they are:
1. Walking — I TRY to walk every day. Twice around the block is about a mile (about 14 minutes).
2. Tomatoes & Tomato Sauce — I TRY to eat one tomato every day, and tomato sauce at least three times a week (try pouring some over leftovers).
3. Sleep, 8 hours — I TRY to go to bed around 10:30 and wake at 6:30 each day (nighttime bathroom visits not included).
4. Olive oil — I TRY to consume at least 2 tablespoons each day, in a fry pan, on a salad with humus, or on 100 percent whole grain bread.
5. Beans — I TRY to have one serving each day, in soup, or salad, or in a bowl, heated up.
6. Smile — I TRY to smile all the time. That way I get plenty of smiling done. It's good for me (the greatest stress reducer there is), and it's great for others (it may just make their day, too)
7. Nasal Irrigation — I TRY to do this each night. After about 4 or 5 minutes, it opens my nasal passages, helping me to breathe easier at night.
8. Swimming — I TRY to do this at least 3 or 4 times each week, either at the YMCA pool or in circles in my above ground pool at home.
9. High Fiber Cereal — I TRY to mix at least a cup of Fiber One (51 percent of the daily requirement) with a lesser amount of other slightly sweetened cereal each morning.
10. Believe it or not, this 10th category is drawing a blank right now.
How about I'll fill you in on it via email at robertebsen@hotmail.com
