Fellow Veterans and Friends of Veterans:

As you will recall, one of the first things that President Obama did upon taking office four months ago was to announce that his administration was adopting a policy of general principles on transparency and open government.

Apparently the West Los Angeles VA bureaucrats didn't get the memo.

I have received a letter  from the VA's Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) officer regarding a simple request for a copy of the Act of 1887, the Deed of 1888, and lease agreements with the Palisades PGA golf tournament.

The cost that the VA wants to charge (extort) to “retrieve” these documents is $2,508.38.

The officer told me it will take 16 hours for each  document,  32 hours or four full work days in all, for the VA to locate and retrieve the Deed and the Act.

Now if Ralph Tillman, the so-called “asset manager” for the West L.A. VA property, does not have an authentic copy of both documents readily available in his desk drawer, then he needs to be terminated, posthaste, for dereliction of duty.

When the VA is unable to find the Congressional Act of 1887 and the Deed of 1888 to the National Veterans Home, is it any wonder that they give this land away for a public park and prostitute it for political favors?

Recently, through FOIA, the Obama administration released secret government documents to the general public that included legal opinions regarding purported torture techniques that the CIA and military used to interrogate suspected terrorist prisoners at Guantanamo Bay.

On the other hand, a Veteran is required to pay $2,508.38 to obtain copies of public documents.

There needs to be a full investigation of these VA thug bureaucrats that eat from the public trough and abuse America's Veterans and their sacred land.

U.S. Rep Henry Waxman (D-West L.A.) needs to stand up for America's Veterans and their sacred land, demanding that the Dept. of Veterans Affairs fire Ralph Tillman posthaste, and that the enhanced sharing agreement Tillman signed with the Veterans Park Conservancy, not a Veterans organization but a wealthy homeowner group, be terminated posthaste!

Save Our Veterans’ Land

Meanwhile, everyone, be sure to attend this Sunday's Save the Home rally, our 61st consecutive, that will be held from 2:30 – 4.

God Bless America and The Veterans Revolution!
