In researching how administrators in other California school districts are dealing with the current budget shortfalls in terms of their own salaries and leading by example, I have so far, found three articles that are linked below.
The first one, from the Riverside Press-Enterprise, tells of the superintendent from Fontana. She said she decided to furlough herself after she heard about Gov. Schwarzenegger’s proposal to shorten the school year by five days. See:

Here's a copy of a page from the Pomona's superintendent's blog where she describes how the School Board passed a motion requesting administrators take a pay cut, and the administrators did it willingly.
