[img]1|left|||no_popup[/img] This has been a terrific week for Barack Obama and a dreadful one for those lockstep left-wing, politically corrected American Jews who ignored his pre-Presidential history and voted for him anyway.
Their hero, no stranger to flat-handed insults, kicked them in the gut twice, and for dessert, he spit in their eye.
Then he told them that it was raining, and secondly, they must have been standing in the way of his kicking foot.
On Monday, word was leaked that, astoundingly, the Obama administration intends to send $900 million to one of the world’s main addresses for Muslim terrorism, the Gaza Strip, to, uh, rebuild the filthy ghetto after the recent month-long war with Israel. For shock value, it corresponds to the Prime Minister of Israel converting to Islam.
This morning, Mr. Obama named the obsequious Chas Freeman, former ambassador to Saudi Arabia and one of America’s best-known Jew haters, to lead the National Intelligence Council, which influences Middle Eastern policy.
Watching Mr. Obama and his highly problematic minions frantically zig-zag through policy issues each day is like watching a 5-year-old drive in the Indianapolis 500. What will he do next to surprise, and usually disappoint, us?
Armed with an unprecedented worldwide mandate, Mr. Obama and his compliant children’s chorus haven’t really settled in yet in Washington. They remind me of a man who is so thrilled to have a new job that he can’t help dancing around the office, clapping his hands, stopping at every desk to see if there are any errands he can run.
History and precedent are the enemies of this administration.
It is as if yesterday never happened.
Mr. Obama and his little elves start all over every morning, plotting new ways to make the nice people in the pews take notice. They are thrilled to have been allowed to come in from the cold. They just can’t figure out a work pattern or the precise nature of their duties.
I suspect the cynical President Obama has a hungrier ear for applause than for actually thinking through a single strand of policy.
At Least It’s Not a Billion
Even liberal Jews who are not particularly proud of their heritage should have seen this week coming.
Just a casual toe-dipping into Mr. Obama’s background, replete with bizarre haters, would have turned up a whole football field of warning flags that the President merely tolerates Jews, as long as they are not obvious about their Judaism. History shows that he has a predilection for edgy radical Muslims and self-loathing Jews. He fairly cuddles up to Jews who are uncomfortable with their Jewishness.
Mr. Obama’s tendency, throughout his campaign and since his election, to slyly allude to his blackness, has restored legitimacy to rabbit-eared racists who find every critique of the President racially tinted. Welcome home, extremists.
Or have you forgotten a slur last week by Sen. Jim Clyburn, a South Carolina Democrat? He said that Southern Republican governors who announced they would reject their state’s share of the stimulus package were racially motivated because all of their states have large black populations.
In this context, for the Obama administration to earmark $900 million for the nest of terrorists in Gaza, where the nice people voted overwhelmingly for the Hamas terrorist government, was entirely predictable. Fortunately, this is one Obama decision that requires congressional approval, and it may not pass.
Is He Paying Attention?
Displaying the naiveté of a grownup away from home for the first time, Mr. Obama said none of the Nearly a Billion would go to Hamas, which I hope will rank as the stupidest statement of his term.
Hamas is Gaza. Gaza is Hamas.
Hamas is as thoroughly ingrained into the culture and every single household of Gaza as a totalitarian government can be. Do we appalled Jews look like schoolchildren?
Israel went to war against Gaza because Hamas and its thousands of not-innocent “civilian” conspirators have been firing rockets into Israel every day of this century.
To which Mr. Obama, peacock proud of his Muslim roots — remember how he finally came out of the Muslim closet in his Arab network interview? — said, “Feh.”
The President blithely ignores the fact that the suffering Gazans with whom he so strongly identifies, are the same foils and fools who elevated the scary Hamas killers into power.
Invitation to a Radical
Don’t take my word that the disgusting Chas Freeman, a Saudi stooge, is a horrible choice to lead the National Intelligence Council. He says that American Jews’ first and only loyalty is to Israel.
But hear this. This morning over at The New Republic, one of America’s more liberal magazines, publisher Martin Peretz, an Obama backer, called him “bigoted and out of touch.” Mr. Peretz was in shock. “I can't believe,” he said, “that Obama wants to appoint someone who is quintessentially an insult to the patriotism of so many of his supporters, me included.”
If that does not bother you, perhaps this will. The weasly Mr. Freeman says Sept. 11 was America’s fault.
