In the continuing enhancement of one of Culver City’s unique attractions, the Friends of the Culver City Dog Park reports that City Hall has installed two new, attractive “dog-size” signs in the reserved space atop Culver City Park.

The signage includes dog weight allowances, which is intended to assist park-goers with choosing the appropriate side of the park for their dogs to play.
The new signs are attached to the front of each entrance gate, one on the big-dog side and one on the small-dog side. They are noticeably visible.
“We felt the previous signs were too small and often overlooked,” said Vicki Daly Redholtz, Chair of the Friends.
“The new signs will help to assure dog owners that their dogs will play with dogs of comparable size or character. Timid larger dogs are allowed in the small-dog park, as the new small-dog sign makes clear.”
The Friends also announced the addition of a second gate to the big-dog time-out area to allow overly excited dogs to exit the park directly from the time-out area without having to walk back through the Dog Park itself.
In thanking volunteers for participating in Polish Up the Park during “P.U.P” Day last Nov. 15, a Friends spokesperson said the helpers sterilized benches, threw away old tennis balls, spread decomposed granite, cleaned water fountains, replenished plastic bags and began work on the retaining wall in the small-dog park.
