While Liberals Wail for Gaza, Fellow Arabs Just Keep on Walking. ‘Call Me Next Year,’ They Say.

Don’t you find it curious that their gutless fellow Arabs are not even fractionally as concerned about the welfare of under-siege Gazans as the world’s left-wing sob sissies claim to be?

But then cheap, high-sounding liberal bravo talk has been on sale at the 99-Cent Store for years.

Discreetly, smart Arabs will tell you that dealing with other Arabs is worse than bartering with your least favorite brother-in-law, even if he is an alcoholic who cheats on your sister, beats his children and hasn’t worked more than part-time since 1987.

Within hours of Israel’s first strikes on Saturday morning against the Hamas criminals who run the Gaza Strip, the chorus of tinpot thugs who run virtually every Arab government were summoned to an emergency meeting the next day to talk response.

Oops.

The supposedly urgent conference had to be postponed. The reason: a yawning lack of interest.

It was rescheduled for tomorrow, four days later, after the boys who run around in children’s masks had given themselves a chance to load up on drugs and other forms of instant Arab courage.

Historically, Arabs are notorious for not supporting each other, a fact liberals choose to ignore.

Why Smart Arabs Hate Hamas

The best of them realize that the worst of them, the cowardly Hamas criminals, are 100 percent to blame for the present crisis. Smart Arabs have signed up to pay back Hamas terrorists for their senseless, unrelenting daily rocket attacks on Israel, for smuggling sophisticated weaponry into the Strip via devious tunnels (many now blown up) and for simultaneously starving and imprisoning their own people.

TheJerusalem Post reported this morning that Fatah, which runs the other Arab enclave, the West Bank, has been quietly aiding Israel in paying back their Hamas enemies. Fatah, of all people, the same group that used to take its orders from the bug-eyed lunatic Arafat, who was coddled for years by former President Clinton.

Before launching its airstrikes in the middle of last Shabbas, Israel consulted Egypt, and Egypt green-lighted the grand plan. So much for Arab unity.

Nevertheless, the roar is deafening this afternoon. We are forced to place one hand over each ear to mute the frantic, stentorian calls from across the globe for a pronto cease-fire.

We Are Behind. Let’s Quit.

From Europe, from Asia and from the Middle East, government leaders are demanding that Israel immediately halt its pulverizing strikes against the Gaza criminals.

Because the side they are pulling for is losing big.

On every floor of the United Nations building, the openly anti-Semitic leaders are begging from their knees on the grounds that Israel is responding “disproportionately” to years of daily rocket attacks on Israel by gangs of Arab terrorists.

“Disproportionate” is a favorite concept of Jew-hating lefties because it is so darned vague — like global warming.

Curiously, though, these supposedly compassionate liberals never — mark that time frame — have found it in their hearts to criticize any other army in the whole world for defending its homeland against daily enemy assaults “disproportionately.”

The term is, of course, an unfunny joke.

Virulent Jew hatred is strong in most of the world’s capitals, and the accusation almost automatically gains currency with their masses.

And Now for an Erudite Word

The scholar Victor Davis Hanson, whom we have cited before as one of the most insightful commentators on contemporary America, pondered the calls for an instant cease-fire.

This morning, Prof. Hanson published the following brilliant list of what Israel’s pro-terrorist critics really mean with their irrational charges of “disproportionate” fighting:

1) Request that 50 percent of Israel's air-to-ground missiles be duds to ensure greater proportionality.

2) Allow Hamas another 1,000 free rocket launches to see if they can catch up with the body count.

3) Have Israeli soldiers congregate in border barracks so that Hamas's random rockets have a better chance of killing military personnel, to ensure it can claim at least a few military targets.

4) Redefine "holocaust" to refer to deaths of terrorists in numbers under 400 to give greater credence to Hamas's current claims.

5) In the interest of fairness, allow Hamas to establish both the date that war is supposed to begin and the date when it must end.

6) Send Israeli military advisers to Hamas to improve the accuracy of their missiles.

7) Take down the barriers to return to Hamas a fair chance of getting suicide bombers back inside Israel.
