Once again at last week’s City Council meeting,a small, vocal group that rabidly promotes its agenda, foisted a program onto city residents.
If the city is going to go through with paying an animal control officer to canvas the community to license animals, I suggest that the city not discriminate between dog and other pet owners.
A pet license makes sense — a dog license is singling out one type of pet to bear the brunt of a program that will spend a great deal of time dealing with cats and so called wildlife.
The last time I checked, our champions of animal rights were silent on the issue of licensing cats . Why is that?
It’s time to make decisions that are fair across the board. Currently, dogs are required to be licensed, spayed, immunized and micro-chipped.
There are no rules for cat owners. This is wrong.
