We are engaged in the wonderful process of democracy here in Culver City. As in any City Council election, I consider the good character of the candidate as paramount to their ability to be a leader. Among the nine candidates vying for a seat in Tuesday’s election, I believe that Jeff Cooper has the necessary traits to lead our city.

I worked with Jeff as board members of the Friends of the Culver City Dog Park on the establishment of the Culver City Dog Park. Jeff not only had the vision and energy required to guide this community endeavor, but as a leader, he made certain that others equally shared the rewards of the effort.

Jeff understood the nature of the relationship of this citizens group with our city government, and he was adept at finding solutions to problems faced during the seven years the Friends worked to build the park. He was always there to pick up the slack when others tired or needed help. He kept the goals clear.

Jeff leads by example. He will never ask anyone to do a task or take a stance that he would not adopt for himself. If integrity is the currency of leadership, then I think Jeff will bring a surplus of wealth to our community.
