A Carl of Many Trades

In his 40 years of playing the guitar, Carl Verheyen has created a wildly successful multi-faceted career.

He is a critically acclaimed musician with 10 CDs released worldwide, and he is commonly regarded as a guitar virtuoso capable of playing any style of music with remarkable mastery and conviction.

Verheyen has been one of L.A.’s elite “first call” session players for the last 25 years, playing on hundreds of records, movie soundtracks and television shows.

He has graced the pages of countless industry publications and been the subject of numerous articles chronicling his rise to the forefront of the modern day guitar scene.

Making the Top 10

Verheyen was voted “one of the top 10 guitar players in the world” by Guitar Magazine.

He has received similar accolades in Germany, France and the U.K. A member of the smash hit British rock group Supertramp since 1985, Verheyen has played to millions of enthusiastic fans in sold-out arenas worldwide. As the creative force behind the Carl Verheyen Band, he has released an impressive and eclectic discography which includes, No Borders, Garage Sale, Slang Justice, Slingshot, Atlas Overload, Solo Guitar Improvisations, Reel to Reel, SIX, Rumor Mill, Take One Step, showcasing his endless talents across a wide array of musical genres.

All-Star Band

His latest endeavors include teaching at the 2007 Grammy Camp master class and being one of the featured soloists in the recent smash hit Pixar film Ratatouille.

The Verheyen all-star band features Cliff Hugo on bass, Bernie Dresel on drums, Craig Copeland on guitar and Jim Cox on keyboards.

The Music Festival series is produced by Gary Mandell of Boulevard Music, and it is presented by the Redevelopment Agency.

Free underground parking is available at City Hall, 9770 Culver Blvd. Concert-goers will have a score and more dining choices, walking-close throughout Downtown, both before and after the entertainment.
