I couldn’t be more proud of my son Curren.

I raised my son in the 9th City Council District with a strong work ethic and an understanding about giving back to the community that has given him so much.

As a Stanford University and Santa Clara School of Law graduate, Los Angeles City Council aide, lifelong educator, former small business owner, state Assembly member and senator, Curren always has focused on family, public service and giving back to the community.

I know how much he cares, and he has a record of achievement to show for it.

He has told me how moved he has been with the outpouring of support from residents, community leaders, labor, teachers, law enforcement and other elected officials from every background.

These endorsements are great, but with 13 days left, he needs help to get through the final stretch.

1. Help us with our campaign budget.  This race is competitive. We are nearly at our fundraising goal, but not yet.   If you can make a contribution, it will help Curren raise the funds we need to get our GOTV program in place to win.

2. Volunteer two hours in our campaign office to GOTV (Get Out the Vote).  Over the next two weekends (and the weeknights in-between), we have a steady stream of volunteers coming in to help make calls and walk precincts to get voters to the polls. But we still don't have enough people to cover every precinct and make every call.

Volunteering in our office at 4707 S. Broadway for two hours will make a difference.

Call Mike Castillo or Andrew Lachman at 323.901.2716 or email us to let the campaign know you are coming.

3. Spread the word or put up a lawn sign. If you live in the 9th, it would help if you put up a lawn sign to show your neighbors who the best choice is the for the district. We have lawn signs at the headquarters. Call. They will bring the sign to you.

Please do your part to help my son win for all of us on March 5.
