Centaurs Play for Pride in Ocean League

The Culver City High School boys basketball team will continue to try to stay out of the basement of the Ocean League on Friday evening at 7:30 when they host Morningside.

The Centaurs are 5 and 13 overall, 1 and 4 in Ocean League play. Morningside is 8 and 11, 2 and 2 in league. The last time the Centaurs played Morningside, they lost a close 46 to 40 game.

On Wednesday they host Santa Monica, the No. 1 team in the Ocean League. Santa Monica is 15 and 4 for the season, 4 and 0 in league.

Santa Monica is one of the top teams in the area, so an upset would be the highlight of the season for the Centaurs.
Inglewood (10 and 6, 3 and 1) is the No. 2 team in the Ocean League, followed by Beverly Hills (9 and 10, 2 and 2), Morningside and Hawthorne (10 and 8, 0 and 4).

The Centaurs are led by Justin Montgomery who averages 11.3 points per game, Chris Edwards at 9.3, Armani Nicolis at 8.2 and Julius Wilson at 5.4.

The Culver City girls basketball team once again moving up to the penthouse. They are 15 and 4 overall, 4 and 0 in the Ocean League. Their next game is at home on Friday at 6 against Morningside. Wednesday they host Santa Monica at 6.

The No. 2 team in the Ocean League behind the Centaurs is Beverly Hills (13 and 8,3 and 1), followed by Inglewood (11 and10, 2 and 2), Hawthorne (10 and 10, 2 and 2), Morningside (1 and 14, 0 and 3) and Santa Monica (1 and 17, 0 and 3).
