As he winds down his final term in Sacramento while running for a seat on the Los Angeles City Council on March 5, state Sen. Curren Price (D-Culver City) is soliciting nominations of remarkable women who live or work in the 26th Senate District and/or the upcoming 30th Senate District.

A “SHero” is a woman who has demonstrated leadership, pride, volunteerism and commitment to her community in an outstanding manner. Ideal nominees are neighborhood activists, artists, community and business leaders, women who make a substantive difference in the lives of others but may not always be recognized for their contributions.

Nominations for the seventh year of SHero celebrations must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 28.

Sen. Price will select 30 SHeroes, and honor them at a special ceremony in February, American Heart Month. The event will raise awareness about living a heart-healthy life.

To nominate a SHero, complete the attached form.

Residency in the 26th Senate District may be verified at: http://192.234.213.69/smapsearch/framepage.asp

For the 30th District: http://swdb.berkeley.edu/gis/gis2011/

A list of SHeroes who have been awarded in previous years is listed on the “SHeroes” section of Sen. Price's website www.senate.ca.gov/price
