Many times over my long career at Culver City High School, I was aided in stimulating my students and improving my curriculum by funding from the Culver City Education Foundation.
The benefits of this excellently administered organization cannot be overstated. Its focus is on students and ways to broaden and reinforce their learning experiences.
As a School Board member, I have seen the results of Foundation support for programs such as SuccessMaker and Odyssey at the elementary and Middle School levels, while the long-term benefits of the AVID program at the Middle School and high school directly benefited my Advanced Placement students with organizational and procedural skills.
In light of debilitating state budget cuts, it is up to us to sustain effective programs like these. The Foundation’s “All For 1” campaign exists to help meet that need.
As a 50-year resident of Culver City, I would remind other seniors how important are the students of today. Years ago we received excellent educations. We should offer no less to this generation. Join me in donating generously to this deserving campaign by going to the Foundation’s website at: ccef90230.org/donate, or by calling 310.842.4220, ext 4212.
Remember: Children = the Future
