Re “Poor and Rich Both on Move – Obama, Romney Take a Vow of Silence

I find it hilarious when incurious liberals step from their luxury automobiles, begin drumming their fingers on the hubcaps and idly wonder why the chosen poor are getting poorer and the rich are growing wealthier.

Imagine that.

My golly, Murgatroyd. Aren’t you also overwhelmed by this startlingly unique development?

It’s the way the world works, pal. It is the job of the chosen poor, because they lack ambition, to slide down the ladder and be envious of the rest of us. It is the duty of the imaginative well-off to apply the work ethic that others lack and, by merit, expand their bankroll.

The only persons who mount the chosen poor vs. rich argument are those who suffer from incurable envy and a paucity of ambition.

When Adam was leafing through the Garden of Eden Bugle every evening, he would remark, almost caringly, to Evie, “Darn, babe. The rich are getting richer and the poor aren’t. Go figure.”

My colleague Dr. Hutchinson resurrects this well-worn issue in a nearby essay, and since he is a smart fellow, I should pose several questions, starting with the most crucial:

• Dr. Hutchinson, why aren’t you poor?

You live well. You are professionally accomplished. There may not be a more dapper male dresser in Los Angeles. You have merited acclaim, especially among those whom you most cherish. You were not born nearly as well as William and Kate.

Let me guess: You learned a work ethic early, applied it and never have loosened your grip.

Being educated, you surely realize that 99 percent of the chosen poor and 99 percent of the deserving rich earned their status. Many were not born that way. They worked or did not work their way into the penthouse or an empty basement.

Welfare is a Feel Sorry for Lazy Me movement driven by insecure liberals to make their hearts beat faster.

I have lived longer than you, Dr. Hutchinson, and, as an ordinary citizen, I never have known a person on welfare. Perhaps because I don’t hang with work-averse, bored, overweight single moms who get pregnant as a hobby.

Your handwringing over lifestyles that all of the poor and all of the wealthy selected for themselves is unworthy of an intelligent person, even a liberal.

Your envy is showing through because it is an integral part of a liberal’s DNA. Liberals choose handwringing over paying a therapist.

What, praytell, do you expect Mr. Obama or Mr. Romney to say about chosen poverty?

It is not their job to put food in the mouths of a man or woman lying – and we do mean lying – on a couch, staring at a 65-inch television screen.

Here is a dollar, pal. Munch an extra salad tonight.

What a balmy idea. It only could reside inside of a liberal who chooses emotion over reasoning as his lifestyle.

What do you expect them to tell the chosen poor?

Where does the lazy man’s responsibility start? When the handouts dry up, you may bet that he will find work.

There is a rudimentary reason the chosen poor and post-FDR Democrats are pillow pals. Both are comfortable with denying the truth about their status.
